There is far too much wrong with this to respond to all of it. I did a live show yesterday going over why Kyle's offense is so hard to stop...lol
Since 2008 - two coaches have had exactly 12 top-10 offenses and have 3 more than 2nd place.

Kyle Shanahan is the most overrated coach in the NFL and it's not close. He can't think outside of his box. He's lucky he has Brock purdy who can play outside of the little box Kyle puts him in. 49ers would be so mid without Brock's playmaking ability. When is the last time Kyle out-schemed a good dc he was going against? All of his tricks are old and figured out and he doesn't learn from his mistakes. Ben Johnson is so much better than Kyle as a play caller. Watch the tape.

@Ad49Ers This is why I said ignorance. You want to speak authoritively from a place of uninformed nonsense. Have you watched install tapes? Do you chart plays? Do you do any actual work in forming an opinion or just spout verbal diarrhea claiming it to be Swiss chocolate sauce?

@Ad49Ers I won't do the work for you - you can do the research on what play theyve ran at least 2x more than any other play, how they tie it into everything else and how it determines their entire execution down to head placement of OL on blocks. This is with and w/out 23

@SulligentHUB No. If Kyles last name wasn’t Shanahan he wouldnt be viewed in the same criteria. There are a ton of coaches better and plenty of “new” coaches that have came in n have had more and earlier success. Is Kyle a good coach yeah he is. Is he top 3-5 , no I don’t agree

@Lobs_All_Day You dont really know the detail differences if you think it's just his dad's offense. The way Kyle runs wide-zone is NOT the same way Gibbs and his dad did. Same with everything. He runs different formations, different OL footwork, his route tree has 50 more routes. But sure....

Kyle Shanahan is one of the best play-callers in football.
That doesn't automatically make him an offensive genius. Geniuses create and think outside of the box. They innovate. What has Kyle Shanahan ever innovated? He copied his dad's offense and added a few wrinkles to it. His dad, Mike Shanahan was a genius. Bill Walsh was a genius. Kyle Shanahan's best work is plagiarized.
Many have copied and repainted the "Starry Night" but there is only one Vincent Van Gogh. Kyle Shanahan is no Vincent Van Gogh. He can't even learn from his mistakes and rectify them. His lack of self awareness alone should be enough to never call him an offensive genius. Don't get me wrong, hes a very good coach, but people talk about him like hes the Albert Einstein of the NFL. I want what those people are smoking.

Drafting a tight end that can't play inline and really is just a big slot stopped being a matchup advantage a decade ago, and in fact it's generally a net negative for your offense.

@SulligentHUB My push back on that would be that OL is probably the hardest position to develop in the NFL due to lack of padded snaps in practice so bringing in projects that need to be retooled will either take longer to develop or won’t develop at all.

I think there's also a lot of nuance in how the 49ers will run their schemes/techniques, vs many others. So, they usually have to rebuild some mechanics anyways for vets and incoming prospects. So, they look at it like they're going to be changing these things anyways, so why not pick the bigger physical upside.

This is actually a very logical take and do believe it does carry some validity Evaluating OL is an extremely specialized skillset and I know real ball knowers who won’t even touch the position for that reason I do think the 49ers have a tendency to put more weight into physical tools over technical prowess at times and that’s exemplified in taking Banks over Meinerz and Burford over Tom who were 3rd and 4th round picks

Not Ashtyn Davis. I didn't like the film. Sigle has the physical traits, Brown has more of the communication and scheme. I'm pulling for Sigle because I think he's the one with the biggest upside.

As far as I can tell, no they won't and it would give even more basis for the 49ers to recoup their paid out signing bonus or get it in future offsets. The 49ers are just going back to their roots - they are Italians from Youngstown(as were my grandparents) and let us not forget the Godfather. "It's business".

Personally, I think any move to protect the cap - negligible or not, is a business and not an emotional decision. Until Aiyuk does what's in Aiyuk's best interest, the 49ers's best move is to not make one. That's the non-overemotional move.
