Global markets starting to feel way too complacent about Iran War. Not only are costs beginning to spike in things like shipping .. .but we are weeks (days?) away from hearing about shortages in things like fertilizer, jet fuel, and more. Poor countries are going to feel it first. Stay focused and nimble.

@SullyCNBC 100%. In this round of reports "How are you hedging energy?" will be as thematic as "How are you using AI?" two months ago.

Morning hot take: We could get the greatest earnings in the world from big tech and not sure it will matter for macro markets if energy costs keep going up. Yes or no?

I have just spoken with the Emir of Qatar and President Trump following the strikes that hit gas production facilities in Iran and Qatar today. It is in our common interest to implement, without delay, a moratorium on strikes targeting civilian infrastructure, particularly energy and water supply facilities. Civilian populations and their essential needs, as well as the security of energy supplies, must be protected from military escalation.

From a feedstock and ingredient perspective, gas is likely to be more of a significant input cost than oil.
Farm Creek Advisors@FarmCreek

@SullyCNBC This is the escalation the market hasn’t fully priced yet—gas, not just oil, is now in the line of fire. When ~20% of global LNG is disrupted and facilities like Ras Laffan go offline, the marginal molecule gets repriced fast—and the world starts bidding for U.S. supply

With another strike on Qatar, Iran shows its willing to target more primarily civilian facilities and ability of world to produce critical heating fuel during winter, fertilizers, medicines, and more. Watch US LNG producers and sellers as the world will become more desperate for American gas $LNG $VG $XOM

Big China EV brand ad here in Paris airport (was a JV with Benz but now almost all China owned). Good looking car. Low labor costs. European auto market - and huge swath of Europes middle class workers - are in play. This is it.

National Leadership is decimated. Intelligence sources tell me they are worried about control over these IRCG bosses who fear losing their power and money.
TruthTelling@TruthTellingX

@SullyCNBC Before or AFTER the success Today? Today was the biggest destruction of leadership outside of the first day. Israel says it killed Iran's 'de facto leader' Ali Larijani, and head of oppressive Basij force Soleimani | The Times of Israel

Intelligence sources to me —> There are many members of Irans regime and military proxies that have gotten very, very rich from regional control of assets. They will defend those fiefdoms to the end. An RPG on the shoulder, a few drones etc. Without this control these military bosses are broke, jailed or worse. They have everything to lose and will fight as such. The real risk are more these rogue militias than some cohesive Iranian leadership. #iran

By the way ... has to be very bullish for Egypt and the Suez canal. Any ships just big enough to slide through the canal (called Suezmax) will and it can be hundreds of thousands of dollars per ship.
