They’re both different characters created by the same professor Dr. Right. Really the difference between them is free will. Mega Man has some capabilities to think for himself but ultimately he is programmed with a sense of justice. Meanwhile X has full on free will.

Respectfully, what you see as cultural appropriation we see as cultural appreciation. Also as a Latino myself I don’t take "being close to the culture" seriously. Yes I play Mariachi, yes I dress like a Vaquero, but I do it because I legitimately like those things.
