In the 10th grade they made us do a project about getting an entry level job, finding an apartment, and affording groceries on that wage. That was 12 years ago. I make 2x what I estimated i would in the project and have a worse quality of life -no savings, no car, food insecurity

It’s just so weird and sad to me that not too long ago, someone with a regular old job could buy a car or even a house. Like an entire house with just their job money.

Thinking about how in hs art class I failed my final because I traced someone's portrait (taken by me) and filled it in with a hand drawn design. Teacher said "tracing isn't art" 10yrs later and with AI being a thing, this is totally ok and acceptable healed something in me ❤️
