So after Jamila Wideman drafted two All-Rookie players who both appear to have All-WNBA upside, the Mystics fired her due to “serious strategic differences” and the immediate solution was to give Sydney Johnson FULL CONTROL of basketball operations?!?!

Sources told me and @kendra__andrews Reese did not request a trade but the Sky worked closely with her team to find her a new home and that there was no contention between the two parties

Though I believe Wings were at the negotiating table, I highly doubt it was w/ the No 1 pick for two reasons.
1. They've made it clear that pick is non-negotiable several times.
2. Even though I think Jeff is incredibly dumb, no one is dumb enough to turn down the No 1 pick.

This feels more about not letting certain teams have her than getting what Angel is actually worth back from Chicago. Dallas and Minnesota could have beat this offer and I'm sure tried.

I would like to think that the Sky have already thoroughly looked at the DEPTH of the 2027 and 2028 draft classes and liked what they saw because there’s a good chance (likelihood?) those two 1RD picks are going to be well outside of the lottery… I guess trust your scouting…🤷🏻♂️
