This natural har conversation only feels accusatory and judgy when you feel like it applies to you or you’re forcing it to apply to you.

@JanetScoop If they did the discourse would’ve been how it was initially. And I don’t think they add extra context bc the initial videos already had it & it is common sense to do so. The same reaction is had regardless of how the message is given. You don’t and that’s fine, good night.

@SunshowerFro I thinkthey understood her just fine, it just sounds like you think the other videos provide extra context and they wouldn't know to look for what they don't know exists. The videos on here come across judgey and accusatory, hence the reaction. But I don't think we're gonna land

That’s the thing tho, the conversation before it came to this app was nuanced. The specific message was clear, the videos went into detail about who and what was being talked about. It’s always going to feel accusatory if the message applies (or forcing it to apply).
Lady WhistleWhileYouTwerk@JanetScoop

imo, the problem is, that the conversation wasn't nuanced, it was more accusatory (as is most of those other convos, which is why they often don't go well either unless everybody agrees on a group to blame).

@JanetScoop The nuance was in the first video. She doesn’t say it’s a series bc it’s not, it’s just her speaking on the topic at random on her page. And if they didn’t understand her point on the video they saw, it would make sense to actually go to the source material.

@SunshowerFro People shouldn't have to watch a series of videos to find the nuance. They reacted to what they saw. I didn't even know there were more than two and I just saw the second one just now looking back for the first. She doesn't even say it's a series.

@JanetScoop No she was not, the video on here is a follow up to the original videos and she made it abundantly clear who the message was for. I’ve seen all of her videos and the message was clear. And it wouldn’t make a lick of sense if it was since she herself wears wigs.

@SunshowerFro The videos on here, she's just kinda saying anybody who wears wigs regularly, etc. Like it wasn't specific to ppl making comments about their hair, it was literally to folks wearing wigs, braids, etc. She absolutely didn't come at it from a place of empathy and leading by

@JanetScoop Bc in her multiple videos on the topic, she was specifically speaking about those that show disdain for their hair/hair like theirs referring to it as “rough” as an example.

@JanetScoop And what else did she say? Was she talking about all girls that wear wigs? Or was she asking probing questions about why some ppl treat their extensions with more care than they do their own hair? When they last walked out in their hair?

@JanetScoop The videos that started all of this discourse. Those responses stemmed from ppl not actually listening to what the young lady said. If you saw the source you would know that ppl weren’t just being called self hating bc the nuance was there. The telephone game was played on here.

@SunshowerFro I'm not sure what videos you're referring to or what time or other app/space you're referring to here. But the responses you're referring to (about letting ppl be) happened on here because it was absolutely accusatory. I say that as someone on the sidelines because my hair don't

The problem IS the nuance some don’t wanna hear and ppl making discourse over things that weren’t being discussed. And as a person that been speaking on this….folks hate nuance too. It doesn’t go well bc it’s an uncomfortable conversation ppl prefer to not have.
