The past teaches lessons of what not to do in the future
Nick Wagoner@nwagoner

Asked about the #49ers history of whiffing on running back picks in the middle rounds and then taking another tonight, coach Kyle Shanahan said he doesn't think about the past when approaching the draft. Obviously, the history isn't good and fair to wonder if Kaelon Black's arrival could mean another departure for a different RB drafted in the middle rounds: Isaac Guerendo.

#49ers are a superbly coached football team. 49ers are excellent at making trades. 49ers need to re-evaluate their entire approach to the draft.

I’ve talked A LOT of shit about LeBron through the years… but holy fuck. What an absolutely incredible performance, no matter the outcome here. Absolutely emptying the tank. Knows this series is over if they win this. There’s nothing like one of the best ever turning back the clock like this.

From 2014-19, the Houston Rockets built a team that was ready to contend for a championship in the West -- only to be stopped in their tracks by Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. The final nail in the coffin: LeBron James and the Lakers in the bubble, forcing the Rockets to go into rebuild mode. In 2025, the Houston Rockets built a team that was ready to contend for a championship in the West -- only to be stopped in their tracks by Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Probably the final nail in the coffin: LeBron James and the Lakers in 2026, which may force the Rockets to go into rebuild mode again. Time is a flat circle.

Like I’m so confused why didn’t we take this guy instead??? Our offensive line is fucking dogshit

The #Cardinals are taking Texas A&M G Chase Bisontis at No. 34, landing a Round 1 talent and a plug-and-play starter. Bisontis brings three years of starting experience and has anchored LG the past two seasons, allowing just one sack.

Steve Kerr reportedly wanted to develop Jonathan Kuminga into a Shawn Marion/Aaron Gordon type, but Kuminga viewed himself as a future All-Star and wanted more on-ball opportunities, per @anthonyVslater “Kuminga's career developed, Kuminga believed he'd shown enough in supplementary roles to have earned more consistent trust and on-ball opportunity. Neither happened to his liking, sources said, only hardening his belief that Kerr and general manager Mike Dunleavy would only ever view him as a run-fast, jump-high athlete without the requisite skill to be a lead option.” (Via espn.com/nba/story/_/id…)

I knew it in advance but seeing it happen in real-time is really something. I spent years pushing for Kuminga to play the right way. Cut out the middies, the ISOs, the early shot clock chucking, the over-dribbling. Streamline. Simplify. Rim pressure first. Open catch and shoot 3s. Crash the boards. Play defense. Get out in transition. EFFICIENT. Move the ball. I've said this CONSTANTLY. Steve Kerr said this CONSTANTLY. JK does it a few games, is very effective, and people say I'M WRONG? HOW, SWAY? #DumbNation
