In Israel, we’re at war. Not because it’s fun, but because we have no choice but to defeat an enemy that grew monstrous under the protection of a spineless international community and a sick progressive mindset.
But I don’t want to talk about the war itself. I want to talk about the unexpected gifts and hard truths this brutal but necessary period has brought — especially for my son.
To keep a child’s mind healthy, he needs parents who reflect reality to him clearly, so he can understand it instead of imagining it. My boy has a rich, healthy imagination — he doesn’t need extra nightmares.
I found the best way is simply to tell him the truth, with motivation and context. I show him how weak the enemy actually is compared to us, and with genuine excitement I explain what we’re doing to them in response to what they’re doing to us.
The result? A 7-year-old who is not traumatized, has zero mental issues, is proudly patriotic, loves his people and his soldiers, and has a clear understanding of reality with strong motivation.
The downside? He sees images of buildings exploding and smoke mushrooms. No child should have to witness that. But when I weigh the benefit against the cost — the outcome wins by a mile. It’s simply healthier for him this way.
As for education: at home he’s thriving nonstop. He’s advancing far faster than he ever would in Israel’s broken, outdated school system. We study everything together — books, comics, every subject — all out of love and curiosity, never force. He actually looks forward to sitting down to learn with Mom and Dad.
And of course, he’s completely spared from the toxic progressive values pushed in schools.
Homeschooling simply works better. My son is living proof.
