Millions of people were watching one of the biggest football matches on earth. But amid the noise, the pressure, and the global spotlight, Salvadoran FIFA referee Iván Barton, who officiated today's Spain–France World Cup semifinal, was seen carrying a referee's whistle adorned with a crucifix. A powerful reminder that even on the world's biggest stage, some people are not afraid to let their faith be seen. Christ above all.

Just look at this dangerous beauty Why is the tail moving like that?

A man's dependence on a woman seems like a modern personal choice, yet history reveals it's an inversion of structural mechanics. A ship can't anchor itself to its own cargo without capsizing when the storm arrives. . When a man relinquishes the burden of provision, he shifts the weight of reality onto shoulders that weren't designed by evolution to carry that specific stress solitary. This transference creates an immediate imbalance in the relational ecosystem. The person who bears the risk always accumulates the authority, meaning the dependent man surrenders his leadership capability by default. . Competence's a perishable asset that requires constant engagement with friction to survive. . A man who's relying on a woman for his foundational security allows his survival muscles to experience severe atrophy. Without the daily discipline of meeting constraints, his capacity for decisive action completely disappears. . Cross civilizational history shows that societies falter when the primary protectors become consumers of security rather than producers. Human nature consistently penalizes households where accountability's misplaced. Nature rewards functional utility, and an environment under stress quickly exposes anyone who doesn't pull their own weight. . Respect can't coexist with pity, and once respect's vanished, the foundation of the union erodes beyond repair. A dependent man's signaling a liability during times of crisis, which violates a woman's deepest biological need for safety. . Reversing this trajectory demands an immediate embrace of absolute self reliance. A man's got to take full ownership of his financial reality and build independent capability. . The deepest truth of masculinity's that ultimate freedom isn't found in total isolation from others. True autonomy's achieved only when a man develops the strength to let others depend on him entirely.

I just learned that under Ghana’s Free Senior High School policy, the government pays the WASSCE registration fees for every student in public schools. Then I looked at Nigeria, where WAEC and NECO fees have just increased. I’m struggling to understand the logic. Nigeria has one of the largest populations of out-of-school children in the world. Thousands of children drop out every year because their families simply cannot keep up with the cost of education. Education is under attack in Nigeria and we have to fight back.

When I told Professor Wole Soyinka that my knee surgery cost about 39 million and that I had about 10 million to pay the hospital, he said: “Let me get to Lagos this Friday and see what I can send.” I sent him the bank details of the hospital. By Monday, he messaged me: “Receivng no notification from you, I asked my bank for confirmation that the money has been sent. Forwarding separately the affirmation documents from the bank in case you need to track the funds. Bank document attached in case you need to track the remittance. I just wish to ensure it's landed in the right place.” When I reached out to the hospital, they confirmed they had received the complete money. What could I have done without him?
