@bonsoirdude Yeah, monthly releases just aren't enough imo. I knw it's best not to rush things, but when we're only getting 20 or so pages a month, it's a bit too little. ESPECIALLY with all the great comic characters, like the aforementioned Whisper, Tangle, Mimic, Surge, and Kit, plus more.

@Surge_lover I would let that slide if they were releasing chapters every two weeks, but given how slow the release schedule is, spending time on such a boring character makes me less optimistic about their writing decisions and their overall vision for what they want to do with Sonic.

@bonsoirdude The Soleil thing was definitely just to have a neat, new character because why not. They provided nothing, other than a way to advance the plot, alongside adding a new, but quickly disposed of, character.

As far as character writing goes, I agree with most except Tangle and Whisper. They've drifted way too far from their original intent and have even been bastardized with their forced friendship. I also agree that the stories have been lackluster, which is why I don't look forward to new issues anymore. The Soleil arc was a complete nothingburger.

@bonsoirdude I wouldn't say the writing is GARBAGE but it definitely isn't great. They have great writing with characters like Tangle, Whisper, Mimic, etc. And AMAZING writing with Surge and Kit. But the writing of the stories themselves? They're... alright?

@Surge_lover Oh absolutely, I think the panels were cute, but it's absolutely horrid shit writing. I don't focus on the negatives, however, because I accepted a long time ago that IDW's writing is garbage.

@a_cheese_burger I absolutely DESPISE the fact that she apologized despite doing NOTHING wrong. Lanolin hasn't done anything wrong in the entire IDW Sonic comic run, yet she's seen as this rude, bitchy woman who hates everyone and everything.

@Surge_lover I KNOW RIGHT shes not mean shes strict, she literally says she hates feeling helpless so she tries to keep everything under control. The more chaotic the world got with the Metal Virus, Eggperial City, and mimic, the more strict she got. She just wanted to make sense of it all

Rewatching the "Shadow the Hedgehog Dark Beginnings" Youtube animation, I just now noticed that the giant spike ball badnik that Shadow, Rouge, and Omega were teaming on is the same badnik that Surge was going after solo. I never realized that till now damn thats kinda cool

@a_cheese_burger I absolutely love her! She's really cool, and I'm a big fan of how she's more grounded than most of the cast, actually wanting order to the chaos that is the world of Sonic. Though I hate it when people call her mean, or a mid character, or worse, that she's only good for r34.

@Bobbutterbutt I find it astonishing how Kit, despite being tortured by Starline, is able to look so cute. He's been through hell, but looks like he hasn't had a bad day in his life. Though, it's caused many people to only see him as this cute lil guy.
