Tell them they can say "I do not know" & call on you as a real last resort 3. Connect later, along with them, with the person who asked to discuss

It’s been things like research that seemed only to be done to fund the next project. Leadership positions that weren’t all that interesting, etc. And I had allowed these things to pull me away from my family, my health, etc. Anyone else feel that? (2/2)

Appreciate all the comments on this thread. This was the closest to what I was getting at in that I have had times when I’ve looked around & wondered why I was doing what I was doing. Not the patient care, as that seems to ground me. (1/2)

The problem is when it’s your ONLY identity and you wake up thinking “who am I?” My identity is fundamentally intertwined w being a surgeon - but I also find myself happiest when I create space for exercise, romance and cats 💕
