@ReidBtweenLine I agree with most of your points. TBH I'm generally in favor of any policy that lowers taxes for people. I much prefer a child tax credit over an IVF subsidy. Oddly Harris is presenting a more fiscally conservative approach on this issue.

That being said I don’t think govt subsidizing fertility treatment is the red line of socialism if we haven’t already passed it.
My more benign view of the world is as government got in bed with all these industries that made us sick for the healthcare complex, they didn’t foresee fertility as the existential threat it is and are frantically trying to course correct by subsidizing kids (and mass migration with all its destabilizing benefits). Kamala thinks she can achieve the same thing with the child tax credit which is another hill I wouldn’t care to die arguing on.
9/10 times I see a subsidy and hate it while seeing all the economic downfalls, subsidizing family would be a rare W
