According to Battlefield Labs data, vehicles are statistically balanced, but players don’t understand why things happen the way they do. I’m not the one saying this, guys—this comes from Chris Matte, who works on vehicles and wrote this blog post.
Let me be honest, guys—there are a lot of noobs in the game. I used to think Warzone or CoD were casual, but BF6 is even more casual. The thing is, this decision wasn’t really based on Battlefield Labs data, but rather on comments taken directly from social media, especially Twitter. The Golmund Railway map will be added to the game, but let me tell you—it will be a completely vehicle-focused map.
Because of this, in Season 3: the damage system is being simplified, the impact of small angle differences is being reduced, and a “same shot = similar result” logic is being introduced. Tanks dying in 3 hits instead of 2 in most situations is also part of this—basically to give tank users a chance to react, but missile users don’t really have a reaction window.
Improvements to vehicle controls, increased acceleration, and better turret aiming are all meant to support this. Honestly, I think this is bad—the current settings were fine.
But when it comes to the repair system, I still stand by my point. Officially it’s called “balance,” but in practice this is a serious nerf.
Because:
Multiple engineers can no longer repair at the same efficiency, meaning the stacking effect is reduced. On top of that, the auto-repair time is increased from 6 seconds to 12 seconds. This means vehicles will stay damaged much longer during combat.
Now, if we put this into a real gameplay scenario: when multiple infantry are constantly firing missiles at you, a tank already needs engineers nearby to even enter that area. But with this system, that support becomes weaker. And having more engineers also means fewer diverse roles within the team. So this change doesn’t just affect vehicles—it directly impacts team composition as well.
Also in Battlefield 6, almost everyone has some kind of anti-vehicle solution. Because of this, the nerf to the repair system could make it even harder for vehicles to survive for long periods. So even though on paper it looks like durability has increased by saying “tanks will die in 3 hits,” in reality, their sustainability is being significantly reduced.
