I remember being annoyed in Dune 2 by that constant vibrating sinister sound. Nosferatu sounds like that. Maybe take your earbuds if you're a fogey like me.

I didn't care for Bill Skarsgard as the vamp. Too wheezy, gross, no swagger or dash like Gary Oldman's character. He kind of reminded me of a Harkonnen.

I liked Nosferatu. I haven't seen any of the other Nosferatus, but I found it very similar to Bram Stroker's Dracula. Visually chilling, gory bits, great performances by Depp and Hoult.

In general fiction I really loved Demon Copperhead, and for non-fiction I read Empire of Pain. So I rounded out the year with drug stories. Historical romance and hard drugs. Happy Holidays all!

I went on a Lorraine Heath glom earlier this year. I also discovered Jane Ashford, who reminds me of Mary Balogh, and Laura Lee Gurke.

I need to make my best-of list but I haven't been keeping track of my reading. I rated 6 books in 2024. Probably read 50?

I tried to watch Anyone But You and couldn't do it. I hated everything about it. I even hated Glen Powell's abs.

Daughter 2 is going to a local CC. She doesn't drive so she's taking advantage of free public transport available to students 18 & under. I love that she's seeing more of the world her way.

My girls are doing great in college. Daughter 1 is at CalPoly SLO, basically living it up. She is the social butterfly of the family.

I need to focus on what's going well in my life so here's a little self-boost. I got a job at a school I like. It's teaching-adjacent, lots of 1:1 tutoring + some office work. I'm enjoying it so far.
