There are many examples of presidents and administrations changing names:
Military bases have been renamed multiple times by different administrations. Fort Bragg became Fort Liberty and was later changed back to Fort Bragg (while honoring a different namesake).
President Obama changed Mount McKinley to Denali through the Department of the Interior.
President Trump later ordered federal usage of Mount McKinley again and also directed the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America in federal maps and communications.
Streets, buildings, ships, military installations, and federal facilities have all had names changed over time by various administrations, agencies, or acts of Congress.
