@OrenKessler Also, independent bookstores in the US showcase books like hers and others that promote hatred of Jews and have whole sections of these books, while Palestine 1936 and others like The Gates of Gaza and Ghosts of a Holy War are often absent. Where is the balance?

Abulhawa is embraced far beyond the pro-Palestine world. She still publishes books with major publishers, still speaks at major literary festivals. It's obscene. But I'd be shocked if Duwaji – a far more obscure illustrator – turned down an offer to illustrate her article.

The bigger problem is that Abulhawa, author of "Mornings in Jenin," remains in good odor in book world. She's completely, utterly odious, referring to Israelis as "cultureless, rootless ghouls," and "demonic parasites" in tweet after tweet. Given that, the rest is unsurprising.

They’re shutting down Ezra Klein. Ezra Klein??? Ezra says to protestor “turn around/i’m right here/talk to me.” Ezra is really smart (really so), he should know that it isn’t about dialogue. It’s about shutting down anything that doesn’t conform w/the protestors’ ideology.
