We can disagree without judgement. Being able to listen to each other’s stories and try to understand their point of view - especially if it’s different from our own - is so important. Connection does not depend on likeness, it depends on respect and love.

You are depriving children of wonderful historical fiction. You can’t erase the past-why not keep the books and have conversations about the negativity?

@LindaSuePark @joshfunkbooks @wearealsc @KateMilford @JackieWoodson I loved the Laura Ingalls Wilder books. I bought them for my daughter when she was young and had them in my classroom until today. Sad to remove them but they tell the wrong story.

Yesterday’s decision by @ALALibrary to posthumously shame Laura Ingalls Wilder shows an astounding lack of perspective. This type of action by America’s premier literature advocacy group paints a dark picture for the future.
