Tonight, I’m at my first ⁦@AustinISD⁩ board meeting for ⁦@impactnews⁩. Dozens of staff, students and parents urged the board to keep Dobie Middle School open. AISD may close the campus to avoid a state takeover following years of low performance ratings.

A HUGE Congratulations on a wonderful performance yesterday from both the @DobieATX Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble! Yesterday we made history, and broke though many new heights. We could not be more thrilled! #ThisIsDobie

@TexasACE_C medical class partnered with instructors from the Austin Career Institute who worked with @DobieATX students on how to properly and safely draw blood. The students also learned about careers and requirements to become a phlebotomist. #ThisIsDobie

@TexasACE_C Impact Barber Academy at @DobieATX has been a huge success with an average attendance of 32 students. The class spent the last session learning customer skills and continuing to learn various types of styles. #ThisIsDobie

@DobieATX Black History Program was like no other. We had guest drummers by admin, a special guest, and wonderful Fine Arts performers as a way to celebrate the diversity of the African American culture. #ThisIsDobie

Thankful that @TexasACE_C program has Common Threads Culinary class at @DobieATX . It teaches students nutrition and culinary skills by professional chefs and explore the culture and cuisine of different countries from around the world.

The Impact Barber Academy at @DobieATX with @TexasACE_C is really making a difference in the lives of our students. It continues to grow in attendance and the volunteers are mentors to some of our students. Thank you all for what you do.
