@TheDavidBergman It is indeed a very dangerous time. Desperation to cling to power will results in more death but it is also a dawn for a new beginning as the people demand is now for a change!

An interesting question is how much Hasina knows about the extent of the protests going on in the country, and how much people have turned against her personally. Is she being informed about the protests, and seen images of them, or is all this being hidden from her? Whatever she knows or does not know, there are reasons other than her own desire to remain in power that will make it difficult for her to resign. There are an enormous number of businessmen and national and local politicians, who owe their wealth and success to the Awami League staying in power. There is an industry of people with a vested interest in Hasina remaining prime minister. One can imagine that many of them are doing everything they can to persuade Hasina that she must not not succumb to the protests and that she must find a way to remain in power.
