Did I say anything about Leon, no. It's fine that it's random person. The problem is that the setting does not match the setting in the game of where this takes place and the monsters are not the ones from Resident evil. If everything is different why even call it a Resident evil movie?

1: I agree, but all movies do that 2: it's not any city/village/mansion, it's locations special to Resident evil. You can't go to any city and call that Raccoon city. most importantly 3: If you are making movie within that setting/timeframe you have to follow the rules of the source material. That means you have to get the zombies right. From their movements, their look, and what they can do. Otherwise, what's stopping it from being any other zombie film.
