At Twongere Umusaruro wa Kawa (TUK) Cooperative in Rwanda’s Eastern Province, a powerful exchange unfolded, where local expertise met global curiosity. A delegation of students from Manchester University, joined by district and sector agronomists, visited our women partners to explore the cooperative’s leadership model, its growth journey, and the dynamics of the coffee value chain. With tools like Cropin, they’re also advancing traceability and data-driven farming, bringing measurable impact to communities. Thriving Leaders Start Within During our high-impact wellness session, women leaders explored resilience in action, mind, body, and heart. The conversation reminded us that leadership isn’t just about surviving challenges, it’s about thriving through them, knowing when to push forward and when to pause, breathe out, reflect, and recharge. Together, we reflected on an essential truth: A strong leader first cares for her own well-being, then uses that strength to uplift others. Our women partners also explored what it means to lead with purpose: understanding your team, valuing every idea, and making thoughtful decisions that drive the whole cooperative forward.
