@marcusmckenna79 @ChrisLynnHedges I think the issue is more nuanced that declaring something "good" or "bad". That is too simplistic of a framework from which to look at this issue. This issue transcends hundreds of years of cultural history. Its too complex for simplistic labels.

I think I've had discussions w/enough Boomer-tier Trump supporters who believe the 2020 election was fraudulent to extract a general theory about their perspective. It is also the perspective of most of the people at the Capitol on 1/6, and probably even Trump himself. 1/x

Both governments and corporations are hierarchical by nature and are causing the most harm on the planet. Is it possible to create a non-hierarchical society capable of working, trading, and governing ourselves without shadow kings to rule over us?

One day during a bus commute, a passenger tossed an empty soda bottle out of the door and onto the city street. It occurred to me that maybe people who grew up in cities don't realize that they trashing their only environment. Then again, neither does our economic system.

When we have an economic system focused on the single goal of profit, everything else is sacrificed to it, including the land. This is the definition of fundamentalism.

As soon as you talk about capitalism, most people say "It's the best system we've ever had." But if that system is going to render the possibility of the extinction of life on Earth, we are going to have to do better!

Instead of judging, we can spend our time understanding or supporting them, or if need be, simply getting out of the way.

Any system that is designed to reward the few while millions sleep in the cold and are hungry is not a system worth fighting for.
