Susteq was founded in 2015 with a new approach: prepaid water meters. By collecting micropayments for water, water service providers fund necessary repairs and maintenance. The system also serves as an early warning tool to address technical issues before they lead to breakdowns.

The Susteq Story: In 2013, a group of engineers that had worked and traveled in Sub-Saharan Africa saw that waterpoints that had been installed, were often broken or abandoned. Communities were left without access to safe drinking water, and funds went to waste.

Clean water is a human right, but millions still lack access. Prepaid water meters make water supply reliable and affordable in Africa, contributing to #SDG6. Let's share examples of how prepaid water solutions can help towards #WaterForAll & #waterforlife 💧
