Olympic Gold - Sustrans team make history on Saturday in Path-clearing Pentathlon.

PRIDE. Kevin, Martin, Andrew, Richard, Steve, Roger and Chris attacked the Himalayan Balsam on the Rawcliffe Path on June 1st, the day of the York Pride Festival. Rainbow colours were displayed by these tansy beetles we spotted, in an apparent show of support.

@sustransnorth Route 65 North of York now clear of some flood debris and the fallen fence on the riverside path towards Skelton. Thanks to Nick and Andy for their help. Further flood clear-up work to be undertaken once the river level resides..

POSTSCRIPT: Laura and I returned to the Copse today to plant some pre-Christmas garlic bulbs we had purloined from St Nick's along the edge of route 66. A scent to delight cyclists' senses, come next summer!

COP this! Sustrans joined forces with Friends of the Earth in York to mark the international day of action for COP28, the UN Climate summit. We got down to work on NCR 65 and sent a message to our leaders: Now it's your turn!

Path-widening, I should have said.

Not a lot of flood debris at Rawcliffe so we (Andrew, Stephen, Kevin and me) got down to a bit of path. Beautiful winter's morning to be out in the sun!

Rawcliffe's finest, Steve, Kevin, Chris and Roger widening the path in some places by more than two feet. Well done, lads!

Great social ride with volunteers, Ken and Peter, from York South and Dorinda and Chris, from York North. Fabulous flapjack in the Home Farm Cafe and super sunshine on the way home.
