@Mehyouthink Footy junior development in west Sydney is a concern. The club can certainly assist (attending schools, AusKick, clinics etc.) but they can’t drive it. Their goal is to win the AFL comp, not run the local comps - that’s what’s AFL NSW is for

@Mehyouthink The head of NSW/ACT AFL should be addressing the media, not the club. This would be the equivalent of Greg Swann being asked about junior numbers in the inner suburbs of Melbourne.

@Mehyouthink I’d say because it’s an AFL issue not a Giants issue. AFL NSW/ACT runs the junior comps and AusKick here in NSW. Plus, I question the numbers quoted in the original SEN story.

@Sutto2606 Not for me, as I don't give a shit about AFLM and won't pay extra price for a double header with different vibe at men's game but I get why many hard core AFL fans like the double header and if it gets the women more sponsorship, I'm sure will easily counter loss of likes of me.

I know this isn’t popular amongst some sections of the AFLW community, but for me it’s a no-brainer. Bigger stadiums, crowds and more importantly; protection from the wind.

People always ask why I get frustrated over the headgear thing - this is the reason! “We don’t claim anything in terms of concussion” but head to their website & would you look at that, claims about concussion all over the place. I love protective equipment but this is a joke.

@footyindustryAU A quick count on PlayHQ doesn’t even match his figures. Over 800 players registered from U13s down to U9s Last season there was 12k registered across the junior clubs. Bigger question to ask, as a former Sydney player, why isn’t he doing more to boost the game in NSW?

That can’t be correct figures. We’d have more than 97 kids player here in Canberra with a far smaller population. Hell, more than 97 kids recently tried out for the ACT AFL side for the state championships.
