My therapist and I talked about this a few years ago and we called the solution “taking the long cuts”. Intentionally circumventing the shortcuts that tech provides to ensure we’re actually living our lives and engaging with world around us! Game changer for me.

I may catch some heat for tweeting this, but resumes are played out. I don't think they give enough intel into how much value a person can add & how great they are. That's why I love to see job seekers use more online portfolios or personal websites to supplement their resumes.

I’d like for this to go away completely by using set, non-negotiable salaries. A company has X needs and Y budget which means it’s a Z level role... a very easy equation to standardize a salary. No reason it should change by the person interviewing. Path to pay equity.

Often times waiting to discuss comp- even directionally- can cost you a lot of power in negotiations later on. Set the tone up front that you have specific comp expectations and you’d like to continue to discuss throughout the process based on what you learn a/b the role

@slizagna SO many people don’t realize that sometimes the smallest things- saving your resume as a PDF, putting your grad date, etc- can save you from getting lost in the shuffle/volume game that is campus recruiting. @slizagna you saved a lot of people with this one!
