Pack it up, lads. I think the theory that the Fugitive is "Pre-Hartnell" is unsustainable now. I'm now forever a Season 6B (between Doctors #2 and #3) theorist, because this is the only way this character works or makes sense now.

Here is the Fugitive Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver, designed by myself and @sonicboltprops 🔊🪛 It was brought to life through a combination of CNC machining and good old-fashioned hand turning from me, electronics by Daniel Howard, and resin and leather work by Karl Derrick.

@the_kovic The original classic sonic is two left over Gerry Anderson props merged together. The psychic paper is literally just a driving licence holder. The TARDIS is a police box, the Daleks have sink plungers on them. The show is made up of found items repurposed. It is the DNA of Who.

@Sutton_Who_ My point is you're acting like it was some deep, deliberate, meaningful design when in reality it was just quickly throwing something in front of the camera with a budget of approximately 2 quid

For those questioning the pen clip… let me introduce you to the sonic screwdriver most associated with the Second Doctor: an Ever Ready Penlight used in The War Games. The clip is a deliberate homage. It’s been part of the sonic’s DNA for 57 years.

@the_kovic No, the previous one was a cutting torch, in the Dominators. The one before THAT one was a whistle from a life jacket in Fury from the Deep. I’m not sure what your point is here, it’s still a sonic Design? Paul McGann was only in for one story in the 90’s, he still counts.

@Sutton_Who_ @sonicboltprops I love the pen clip. Do you have a selection of shots of it from every angle so us #DoctorWho artists (and cosplayers out there) can reproduce it as accurately as possible? I know there will be a huge demand for as much reference as possible.

Although our design actually borrows from a later version of the same Ever Ready Penlight, mainly because it had a slightly nicer-looking end switch. That version appears in The Time Warrior in the Third Doctor’s hands, so it’s still steeped in Doctor Who lore.
