Back then I did not understand what that meant. Five years later, the collaborators hold the rights and receive royalties, while I received no payment and no ownership for my work. This is not about sympathy. It is about credit, rights and dignity of labour.

be fair. The song was shot in my village, with stories from my land and my people. I shared that history believing it would reach the masses. But I was placed only as a “featuring artist” — despite writing the full song and composing the main melody.

For clarity regarding “Enjoy Enjaami” (released 5 years ago): The beat was sent to me. I wrote the lyrics, composed the main vocal melody and performed the song based on my own cultural history and lived experience. Music is collaborative. But credit and compensation must also

@L1fafaforSale @leftitcita Hm i disagree on the night life part. Chennai clubbing culture does end early but there are still so many places to go and chennai has a big sober nightlife culture with spots open till 4am to hang out w friends

@leftitcita I think when it comes to safety, env, infra, rent - Chennai mogs every other city even though it’s seen as slightly boring by the partying types

@leftitcita Chennai is great and overall welcoming to new people once you find one or two people to talk to. Great place to spend time and constantly things are happening. Pondy is great for a slow life type of way and is quite small. Both are reasonably good choices and most understand eng

#Kerala : #Monalisa, who shot to fame during #KumbhMela seeks police protection in Thiruvananthapuram #MonalisaBhosle, the young woman who became a viral sensation during the #KumbhMela in Prayagraj, has sought police protection in Kerala after opposition from her family over her relationship. Monalisa, a native of Indore in #MadhyaPradesh, reached the #Thampanoor police station in #Thiruvananthapuram along with her boyfriend Farman Khan. She told the police that her family, particularly her father Jai Singh Bhosle, was opposing their relationship and allegedly threatening her. According to police, Monalisa and Farman have been in a relationship for about one and a half years after meeting through Facebook. The couple reportedly travelled to Kerala seeking a safe place as they feared strong opposition from their families in their home states. Monalisa had come to Kerala for the shooting of her debut film The Diary of Manipur, directed by Sanoj Mishra and starring Amit Rao, brother of actor Rajkummar Rao. Following an argument with her father in #Ernakulam, she travelled by train to Thiruvananthapuram with Farman and approached the police. Monalisa told the police that she wishes to live with Farman, though she is not ready to file a formal complaint against her father. Monalisa shot to global fame after a video of her selling Rudraksha beads at the Kumbh Mela went viral, drawing huge crowds and later opening doors to film opportunities.
