@CokeHamilton speaks powerfully about the need for investment for growth in Africa, not investment for extraction. You can't de link development and energy transition. #AITH2025

Important read as I send my daughter off to school at 7am for her 1 hour plus commute.... a reminder also of the essential role that academics can play in exposing inequalities.

We need more city schools in Dublin. TUD/DIT Aungier Street, a purpose-built campus, presents a obvious opportunity. We should be reusing buildings in a sustainable way, especially in areas where they're needed. irishtimes.com/opinion/2023/0…

Inspiring journey, Sorcha Fennell @trocaire @Dochasnetwork who I had the priveledge to work and learn from. Great reminder that it takes passion, courage and empathy if we are to 'empower those who are vulnerable to poverty and violence'
Dóchas@Dochasnetwork

Our series on Irish people working in International development continues with #Galway woman Sorcha Fennell of @trocaire, who has worked in some of the most vulnerable places around the world for over 30 years. dochas.ie/whats-new/we-w…

Rant alert: I'm in that stage of life where I'm trying to get my kid into secondary school in Ireland, pouring through endless admissions policies with no guarantees of entrance into ANY school in Wicklow or Dublin. So depressing to see this kind of language in this day and age.

It is a sad world when mothers in Somalia are forced to starve their children further so they meet the metric to get their families help. Measured reporting @sallyhayd but left me angry and ashamed in equal measure. open.spotify.com/episode/6QOm5v…

As a Moore Prize winner, I’m delighted to see this excellent 2022 longlist (which includes some dear friends). These books help us stay aware and protect one another from human rights crimes:
