When Ethan was first diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular dystrophy, the words we were told by his consultant that day will forever stay with us. “go home and enjoy what time you have with your son, his life expectancy is mid to late teens.
That’s exactly what we have done over the years, we have lived life with him to the very best we can with every obstacle you can imagine thrown in for a challenge, we’ve even had to resuscitate him when his heart stopped beating.
But through all of this and every challenge that life has thrown at him he still has hopes, dreams and passions, among one of his greatest passions is his love of everything Ice hockey related.
He’s travelled the world and met some of the very best players following the sport he absolutely loves and adores. Never forgetting his beloved Belfast Giants and his favourite EIHL league back home, where he has made many friends and followers.
So this jersey we’re releasing is all about him and celebrating him, celebrating him becoming a man in his 18th year of life, a life that is by no means easy but he rises to the challenge each and every day. It’s about strength and courage and something that Ethan can be proud of others being a part of.
He has designed it from concept right through to colour and detail, every jersey will carry his very own unique signature, a small piece of him which he has chosen to share with the wide community he loves so much.
Every jersey can be completely customised with your own name and number or you can choose to have the number 18 and Ethan on the back to celebrate along with him in September when he turns 18.
Details of how and where to order will follow shortly.
We will have these jerseys exclusively on show at playoffs.
