William lobbying the Queen for "assurances" that Meghan wouldn’t touch Diana’s jewellery tells you everything you need to know about how she was treated from day one. He was treating his brother’s wife like some sort of common thief before she’d even joined the family. This wasn't about protecting a legacy. It was a calculated, petty move to make sure Meghan knew she was an outsider. William and Kate clearly couldn't handle the competition and decided to sabotage her before the wedding was even over. Harry gave up his own mother’s engagement ring for that man, only to be treated like he didn't have a right to his own inheritance.
