@billric36028987 Love her. This also reminds me that much of my education in opera came from a childhood listening to Otto Lowry and The Transcontinental on CBC Radio. Her and Jussi Bjorling still linger in my memory.

i've spent the last few days listening to Birgit Nilsson, as time allows, oh, lord, such a phenom, it's like standing on a high viewpoint being simultaneously assailed and caressed by all possible winds. also, a real inspiration when it comes to millinery.

. @CanadasLifeline I have not been able to donate for many years due to too much time spent in the UK. I notice the US Red Cross had changed their criteria for this. Are you considering it?

God I miss newspapers. I used to feel the same way - once I went and stood in the giant press room at the Times Colonist and got a paper off the press and was flabbergasted that what I’d just wrote was here in my hands in the real world.

. @globehelp @globeandmail I have a feature request. Other papers (NYT, WP) allow subscribers to share up to five paywalled articles a month. More than newsletters, events etc this is the benefit I use most. Can G@M please introduce this?

This is me! I am on Train 48!! And the on-board staff have been absolutely stellar in a very difficult situation. Most passengers are being pretty decent, but a few are being abusive to the poor Via staff who have no control. But we are warm, we are safe, we should be moving soon
