On day 2 of our eDNA and genomics workshop we learnt about advanced evolution topics and how to study genomes using sequencing with lectures from Hannes and Jaysmita. In the afternoon we dived into learning linux 🤿💻 in the first steps to studying genomes! #UNHASgenomics

Thank you to rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompain for welcoming us to Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) in Makassar, Sulawesi. We're happy to be at UNHAS over the next two weeks giving a workshop on eDNA and genomics for local researchers.

Grateful for the warm welcome by the biology students of Tadulako University, Palu. We kick off our field trip in Sulawesi by presenting our research on evolutionary genomics of the sailfin silverside fishes of the Malili lakes.

Congratulations to the newest Svardal group member @Lisa_VanLinden on gaining her @FWO PhD fellowship! Lisa will for the next 4 years be researching how island populations of the Italian wall lizard Podarcis siculus can survive genetic impoverishment.
