@GylesB1 I saw her in ‘A German Life’ in 2019, she was superb. If I remember correctly, it was a 1h45m monologue. I was so captivated that I didn’t realise over that time that the stage moved towards the audience, I was entranced and am fortunate to have seen it. The best, now I’m sad.

The saddest news: the death of Dame Maggie Smith marks the end of a golden era & a quite extraordinary life. She was a truly great actress, “one of the greats” & simply the best company: wise, witty, waspish, wonderful. One of a kind in every way & consequently irreplaceable.

Just heard the wonderful Oscar, Emmy, Tony & BAFTA award winning actress Glenda Jackson has died. From the RSC to Women In Love, from Elizabeth R to her most recent TV drama Elizabeth Is Missing, Glenda was one of Britain's best actresses. A great lost to stage & screen. RIP

A wonderful actress, a committed politician, a remarkable human being - we became MPs on the same day in 1992 & I treasure our unlikely friendship. She was such a gifted, caring & special person who came into the world to make a difference - and did. RIP the unique Glenda Jackson

@virginmedia I have been on the phone since 7pm. First call was ended when the other person said they couldn’t hear me half-way through the call, second person spoke to me but then transferred me to someone else, after another 30 minutes on hold the line went dead. Awful service
