“Minimal gameplay shouldn’t matter as long as the game is good.” Okay. Say that again, but slower. Especially the last word: good. Visual novels, classic adventure games, and modern walking simulators get praised all the time because, despite having minimal gameplay mechanics, they’re charming, unique, well-written, and actually enjoyable to experience. Now ask yourselves: why did people love those games but not Mixtape? The answer is right there.

@Svikternepotism @Awk20000 It's actually really simple: if you're found to be stalking someone, you get put in jail or in a mental institution I wouldn't wait for them to "do something." I would consider the act of stalking as "doing something" It's subhuman behavior, and that's how it should be treated

@Asmongold @Awk20000 The issue is simply how to implement it? as you can get restraining orders etc, but its hard to actually punish someone who has yet to do anything. You can fine them if they keep on stalking, but until they actually do something you can jail them.

So regarding Mixtape's licened music and how they could afford it, its actually fairly simple as no other game has ever simped or market licensed music as Mixtape has, so ofc they will give them a discount on the licensed tracks.

Why am I seeing people complain about the soundtrack of Mixtape, how its just popular licensed songs and no original music. Do people not remember that every single GTA game before 4 relied solely on licensed tracks? What exactly is the issue here?

No marketing? The game was featured at multiple showcases over the last two years as the developer's last game (Artful Escape) was a pretty popular indie release: Xbox Games Showcase (June 2024) Summer Game Fest (June 2025) Nintendo Indie World Showcase (March 3, 2026) Annapurna Interactive is the publisher, not the developer. They also published Artful Escape, and it's no secret that they're a spin-off of a movie studio. The developer isn't run by a "billionaire's daughter". They're an indie dev in Australia and the game director of Mixtape was Johnny Galvatron who has no connection to any US billionaire.

Played around 1 hour of mixtape and its better than I expected, excellent music, the creators knew their history and are well known in that area. Comedy and voice acting is on point, and the art style is unique and cozy. This game is gonna win a ton of awards this year #mixtape

@HariSel57511397 I hard disagree, Mass effect 2 is a perfect bottle episode where they focus on worldbuilding and its characters, it has the best cast of crewmates by far, the issue is simply 1) there should have been 4 games. 2) Mass effect 3 wasted too much time

While Mass Effect 3 resolved terribly, the real culprit to killing the franchise is ME2, which wasted a whole game on a functional side quest instead of building up the Reaper Invasion (relegated to a dlc) and more importantly, how to stop the Reapers.
