Looking for text into log files using grep command in Linux? Improve your search by adding context to the match with: ⮕ grep -C 3 search_pattern filename This will search 3 lines before and after the match. Easier to understand the logs this way.

The $? variable in Linux. When a command finishes its run, an internal return code is generated and is displayed by running the echo $? command. If its value is 0, it means the command ran successfully. A non-zero return means an error has occurred. Stay tuned for more tips.
