@dose_of_Close @Ivantheboomer @Evan_Hand You can't compare a mortgage to a NIL deal. Again. The school is separate from the sport. Ncaa simply won't allow it. The courts won't allow it. Especially since there's no case law for it. I would understand if they prepaid him and was getting that back. But they didn't.

If he signed an NIL contract that had a 14 month term, and there were penalties for violating the term, then I don't see how he can't be held liable like any other person who signs a contract. If you get a mortgage and pay 80% but then don't pay the last 20%, they will take the entire home and you lose 100%. I imagine kids will start getting buyout clauses in their NIL contract where the new school has to pay off the existing contract just like coaches and pros.

He did that and his obligation ended. He wasn't paid anymore But for an NIL to try and step in and say where students go is unlikely

Correct. Which is why they aren't reimbursing the tuition. They are keeping their student privilege, which is tuition. The NIL is a separate contract. A player can enter in an NIL contract with Nike if they want. Are you saying if they don't fulfill their obligations with Nike, they can't be sued? Because the Uni is just Nike in that scenario, as an NIL contractor.

@dose_of_Close @Ivantheboomer @Evan_Hand I didn't just learn about the buyout. But they're employers. Student athletes are only students according to the NCAA bylaws. NIL don't make them employees. They just get to profit off their likeness and their likeness alone.

@Ivantheboomer @Evan_Hand You feel this way even though there coaches have done this to the kids sincere day one? Recruit - get a new contract - leave. Lane Kiffin is doing it right now. What if they follow the coach who recruited them? What if they can't get into their educational programs at the uni?
