We get a lot of questions about why Shopify Payments are disabled after risk reviews, so I want to be direct about what we do, why we do it, and what the data shows. We often hear "My chargeback rate is only X… why is Shopify acting on my store?" While chargeback rates are one signal, fake reviews, buried subscription terms, products that never arrive – these are just a few of the other signals that trigger action. When buyers have to dispute a transaction from a merchant because they never shipped a product or the product was different from what was promised, the trust degrades in all independent businesses on Shopify. We also closely look at when we get this wrong: 99.9% of merchants in good standing have never experienced a wrongful termination or rejection. In the rare cases we get it wrong, there is a defined escalation path, and we have invested in making it faster, more transparent, and more self-serve. This is what it means to build a platform merchants and their buyers can trust. 👇

@leonishuang You’re just getting hit with circumvention. Switch the page, ad account, and ideally the BM too. Connect a clean agency ad account (or any account from a different BM) to the advertising BM, warm it up with a few low-risk approvals first, then start scaling conversion campaigns!

met a guy in bangkok running 40 linkedin accounts from a coffee shop making $280k/year no office no employees no sales calls just sending DMs all day i asked him how he doesn't get banned "linkedin thinks im 40 different people in 40 different cities" watched him for an hour - logged into different browser every 3 minutes - sent same message 200 times with tiny variations - booked 8 calls by lunch - accounts were all 2+ years old asked where he got the accounts "telegram. i was a 4.25 student all through high school and pretty much went through life thinking i was going to be a doctor > then i dropped out of med school > sold a software company and had no idea what i was going to do next > and got into ecom with no idea if it would scale or work or anything (i just kind of tried it) then we started Apptics. it was the same gut feeling i had every single time. you don't really know if this thing will work. i've had difficulty finding my purpose by trying all these different things and it's obviously very stressful when you're starting something new these are the questions i asked myself through every one of those pivots (the ones that actually helped me find my purpose):

Most “agency accounts” aren’t real agencies just resold BM 2.5Ks with no AM, no credit line, and people burn them. Real agencies have infra, credit lines, and escalation paths. BM health matters, and “personal” accounts have limits too. It’s not "agency" vs "personal", it’s good setup vs bad setup. Focus on a good infrastructure than just the type of the ad account because that's what really matters, agencies exist because there is no bulletproof system on Meta and whoever says there is are just BS'ing.

If you wired early, Meta won’t auto-apply it. Email ar@meta.com or payments@meta.com and mark it as a prepayment. Ask them to apply it to invoices or your credit line otherwise it just sits unallocated and your account shows unpaid which might be the reason your ad account actually went down lol

I believe due to the ongoing Meta issues, even new ad creative which genuinely had the potential to scale were not able to deliver positive ROAS. Once things stabilize on Meta’s end, I plan to relaunch all the creatives I’ve tested over the past two months.
