No, India wont. But defence industrial synergy and strategic coordination with India is a net win for both. You have a point- many in the region mistake this development mirroring the Pakistan- Saudi defence pact with explicit guarantees and boots on the ground. Thats not what it is about.

UAE really thinks India will fight alongside it against Iran and/or Saudi? I am amazed at how brainless UAE’s defence policy is right now. The problem with Gulf countries is that there is no room for dissenting voices either. All we get to see from Emarati Twitter is how genius everything the UAE does is. No one can even dare tell their leadership that they are getting it absolutely wrong!

This was coming-- Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan and even Central Asians-- all would support it.
