We also want to share the runs without TKM_IA. We generally prefer these runs however, since TKM_IA is topping the rotations, it is difficult to determine which source is more reliable. There is limited data available on the correlation between TKM_IA and the Subcon Populations.

Insights on Ancestry@IOAncestry
Tanoli ancestry profile 🧬 Indus Periphery : 44.12% Turkmenistan_IA (Yaz II): 46.08% Nepal_Chokhopani_2800BP: 9.8% Tanolis show a predominantly Indus Valley + Iron Age Turan genetic profile, with a minor Himalayan-related component represented by Chokhopani.
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal Wouldn’t hurt to try but i can’t imagine it topping rotation’s cause how much a BMAC source would constrain a model.
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal Not necessarily even Pashtuns need IndusHi to pass BMAC sources. It’s not guaranteed for all populations, since everyone is admixed differently. We also pick up East Asian ancestry, Imagine how that further constrains the model. Still, we have passed models with BMAC sources.
English

Tanoli genetics are interesting
Their profile reflects strong Indus Valley continuity, as you’d expect of a people inhabiting the subcon for a 1000+ years, but they’ve preserved an usually high Steppe-Turan genetic signal, + smaller AASI (~14%) and East Asian (~9%) contributions

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal No, and it most likely wouldn’t pass given the number of tests we ran; on average across all these samples, it would probably exceed 1,500 models. But we could try it and see what happens.
English

@Swati_Tanoli @_hazarewal have you used Jarkutan BA for modeling Tanolis though I'm askin
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal Here is what we do have so far. This is why we upgraded him to Big-700.

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal Yes, TKM does have BMAC; it is roughly considered ~50% Steppe and ~50% BMAC, and it was rotated with other BMAC samples. Ill drop all the other sample ID’s below
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal Other SEs are ~1–2%, but AASI-related ones are higher due to admixed proxies; even SAHG tribal samples aren’t fully unadmixed, so these are rly good error values for South Asian models. You’ll see this pattern across a bunch of qpAdm’s for other groups.
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal All admixture proportions are estimates, and South Asian models are no exception; accuracy would improve with a true unadmixed AASI sample, and qpAdm errors vary by data quality rather than a fixed ±3% SE. You’re missing the point that qpAdm Preferred IndusMed rather than IndusHi
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal it's in the aadr
i8726.sg = IVCp_low
i8728.ag = IVCp_high
i11456.ag, i11459.ag, i11466.ag = IVCp_med

@Swati_Tanoli @_hazarewal Can you rather share sample ID used to make these IVv pools?
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal Yeah these 6 Samples are all from Lower Tanawal.
English

@Swati_Tanoli @_hazarewal I ask this because they have recent Khowar ancestry as you already know. Any samples recent ancestry from Pashtuns Khowar etc., ideally and relatives as well have to be removed
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal I said we are still waiting for the Big Y-700 results to come back for Sentyab Tajik. We will make a post about it once it’s done.
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal Also, in a few months, the Tajik from Sentyab, Uzbekistan with the Y4364 R1b lineage will potentially get his Big Y-700 results back. His Y-12 Exact Match Contains a Tanoli so that is all we know so far.
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal No, unfortunately I’m pretty sure Jahandad has only tested Y-37 on FTDNA. There’s no information that he’s done an autosomal test maybe he has done one privately, but we don’t know. We will be getting an Agror Sample that is of the same lineage as Tanoli’s on FTDNA soon.
English

@HasanMS_10016 @_hazarewal I think what’s going on here is that Tanolis are more divergent than we thought. The top model is ~14% AASI, and the next best is ~19% AASI. What’s interesting is that qpAdm preferred Indus Med once again.
