There’s a nip in the air. The sun feels good at times. There’s a festive feeling all around. Let there be light.

Exactly my point. How does the data go out? Shouldn’t someone be looking at this? We cannot stop questioning just because it is common knowledge.

Why should any upcoming renewal of car insurance be known by so many companies? Is there no rule? Where does the information leak from?

For loans, one has to prove repayment ability. To go abroad, several times bank statements have to be provided. For pension, life certificate is required. Why can’t car buyers be asked to provide proof of parking space?

Short-cut to death. Why cannot this violation be stopped? Is it so difficult to police this?

It takes a death to notice this?

My article in @IndianExpress today on a new wave of children’s books in India. “The last three decades have seen a sudden expansion in the sheer volume of children’s books, also reflected in an expansion in the number of publishers, authors, illustrators, etc. The readers have expanded too, as there is a class now that can afford to go beyond textbooks. There is also a wider range of genres including graphic novels and age group-specific books, including young-adult literature. And there is a discernible improvement in the quality of design, translation and production. At the same time, the two editors conclude that “given India’s large, diverse and multilingual character, both the production and consumption of children’s books are mere drops in terms of actual needs”. indianexpress.com/article/opinio…

Every time I see spends like these I wonder what does it take to give us footpaths too. People walking on footpaths can easily be the real time eyes and ears. So many people!

@OptimusPrimerv I wish we could start by removing automobile repair shops from footpaths. Prohibiting parking on them can be the next step.

Hilarious!

A week well spent. Lots of love coming in. A birthday, a conference, a few meetings, a workshop and some interviews. Different people - focused and full of energy. Brought joy to my week.

Back after 3 back-to-back Bookaroos. Jaipur, Colombo, Srinagar. Watched in amazement how minds opened up, eyes fill with wonder, hearts sang out in happiness as children went about the venues - captivated by stories, workshops, drama, books, authors. The excitement is universal.

The menace of marketing calls is frightening. I just cannot believe with all the new technology at hand why it cannot be curbed.
