Can confirm… 1 almost finished WIP, 1 paused 75% finished free write, 1 paused 25%, and thanks to a writing prompt in class, the first chapter finished in a new book. One idea for a book to round the first two for a series of three. Will write a historical, fictional (loosely based on my family’s pioneer and settling experiences). Will write at least one book for my grandbaby. Real life friends other than co-workers… 2. Acquaintances here, many. A few conversations, wonderful. And one new friend I’ve had many kick-ass conversations with🫶🏻🤘🏻 And to be honest… I’ve never been happier. Family, a few friends, MacBook, pens, journals, music. My dream life💖🫶🏻

Among the things I don't worry about: Using m-dashes because someone will think I wrote the book with AI. I use them--a lot! Getting poor reviews. At least they reviewed it! Having my books disparaged because they're self-published. So what? I LOVE being an entrepreneur!

@SweetNovember48 True! Actually you start with silence… and somehow end up with entire worlds that feel real.

Writing is wild. You sit down with nothing, make up people who don’t exist, give them problems you created, and then spend hours solving them like it’s your job. And somehow… it works. One sentence turns into a page, a page turns into a story, and suddenly you’ve built something out of thin air. It’s chaotic, it’s exhausting, and honestly… I love it.

My search history while writing a thriller is just: “can someone survive that” “how long does it take to ___” “what does ___ actually look like in real life” “how long does DNA last” “what do forensic teams look for at a murder scene” Anyway, I’m definitely on a list somewhere.

@SweetNovember48 Exactly We go through all of it; the doubt, the silence, the moments we question everything and still somehow find ourselves writing again. It must mean it’s something we’re really meant to keep doing.

Writing is one of the few things where you can give it everything… and still feel like no one noticed. That silence is heavy. Because after all that effort, you start asking yourself: “Was it even worth it?” #WritingCommunity #Authors
