At the nail shop— Dude from across the room getting a pedi staring at me nonstop the whole time, then comes to my nail tech to pay...keeps looking at me and says, "Hi"...I just look up and away. He drops something next to my feet and touches my leg while he picks it up to apologize. I finch, and he's says, "Sorry, my bad"...and I just said, "Yeah, right"...he says, "I'm just apologizing, no need to get upset"...I said, "Then just apologize, no need to touch me"...then unbelievably asked for my name and said I was cute. I rolled my eyes and ignored him. SMDH...

@AuthorJFuller I probably have more than I should! I grew up in a broken home in an abusive town. I escaped at 15. My parents saved some of my stuff and sent it to me when I was stable. The cost and the reward of freedom is far greater than any “thing”.

How many of you have things still from your childhood? I grew up in a broken home and when i freed myself i took just what could fit in my backpack. I only have 4 things, the backpack (still), a knife, a blanket, and a poster. Everything else I left behind and never went back for

@AuthorJFuller I completely understand. You are an amazing dad and create great memories for your boy. And you have an amazing relationship with your wife. All that I see you do is precious and valuable.

I may not be able to take him to Disney Land or buy him a new phone every year (which is dumb by the way) but i can give him the life I never had, and he will always know he is loved but both his parents. And sometimes that's enough. 4/4

but then i think back to my childhood and I know my son has a roof over his head always, he has never gone without food, never suffered without at least the basic needs, and isn't growing up with drug addicts and abuse, which was my whole life. 3/4
