It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Officer David Cajuso, 33, a 10-year veteran of the Miami Beach Police Department. Officer Cajuso was involved in a motorcycle crash earlier today along I-75 in Hialeah and later passed away at a local hospital. We ask our community to keep Officer Cajuso’s family, loved ones, and our MBPD family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. End of Watch: October 28, 2025

A true hero in action! While dining at Green Chicken Restaurant, Officer Serge Thevenot sprang into action when a man began choking on his food. Thanks to the officer’s quick thinking and life-saving maneuver, the man was able to safely expel the food. For his courage and swift response, we are proud to recognize Officer Serge Thevenot as our Officer of the Month for July 2025. His actions not only prevented a life threatening emergency but also shines a light on the vital role our officers play in keeping our community safe.

Mayor Jose “Pepe” Diaz and Sweetwater Police Chief, Sergio Diez, along with the command staff, proudly added Chief Code Enforcement Officer Martin Garcia and Officer Milton Montes de Oca to our Military Wall of Honor. 🇺🇸 Chief Garcia’s service spans from USMC Tank Crewman in Okinawa (1972–1978) to 32 years with Miami PD, and leadership in code enforcement across South Florida — now serving as Sweetwater’s Code Compliance Chief. Officer Montes de Oca served in the U.S. Army’s 7th Infantry Division (1982–1986) before a 31-year career with Miami PD, leading intelligence, organized crime, and counter-terrorism. Today, he trains the next generation at Sweetwater PD and serves as a trauma-focused mental health counselor. We honor their lifelong commitment to protecting and serving. 💼👮‍♂️  #MilitaryWallOfHonor #ServiceBeforeSelf #SweetwaterStrong
