Just attended an outstanding event at @lawn_manor with @SwindonCouncil, @SwindonCoS, the Harbour Project and more discussing how Swindon can become a Borough of Sanctuary. A great welcome speech from @bushellemma and powerful testimony from people who have come to the town.

These riots started in Parliament. Rioters chant “stop the boats” and “we want our country back” - using language from politicians across the political spectrum. It’s not enough to call out violence, politicians need to stop normalising hate. In policy and practice.
