STRIKES WIN((INSIDE EDGE DATA PASSED ON BY FRED CORRAL UNIV. MISSOURI PITCHING COACH)
What to throw more strikes?
1) Target the middle of HP. Better chance for misses to stay in the zone.(Misses generally move east & west)
2) Pitch up & down.
3) Change speeds. Pitch front & back.

@JWonCATCHING So true. It happens so fast and many times the umpires are not that alert. They wake up after the 1b coach complains, but it is one pickoff too late. Keep up the good work!!

@SwingWing6 Only if they call it. Few are called.

@Hittingforpower Good stuff here Jordan and a great visual to understand your point. Thx you.

@TJHannam10 Depends on three things:
1. pitchers tendencies & ability to throw strikes w/certain pitches 2. Hitting count 3. Hitters strengths
English

@TJHannam10 Left(20’)bat seems to be getting away from body & will be more vertical w longer path as evident by rear elbow getting more lower than in 19’. As the bat gets away from the body (left) he has to stand up more since the bat is moving away from his body.
English

@TJHannam10 I will take a stab at it...
Right(19’) bat appears prepared to work around the body horizontally which is a more powerful position. Also seems to be getting into his legs more in 19”...more squatting.

English

@TJHannam10 Small lateral shift creates a bit of momentum towards the pitcher. When the shift stops(think car stopping abruptly)this helps start the rotational power from the ground up. Stride heel lands, front knee locks and front hip begins rotation creating a kenetic chain.
