Literally all that was changed is lighting and shading. Its funny watching people that have no idea what they are talk about just disregard HOW MUCH lighting can change a person or how something looks.

Any idea of why my Nintendo Switch is suddenly outputting distorted colors to my TV? I have tried everything I can think of to fix it (including trying a different dock) but nothing helps. It’s unplayable this way.

From left to bottom right 0-100% - we were told it doesn’t effect the geometry and it’s simply lighting but there are artistic changes made all over the place. It’s literally doing the “on the fly” interpretation we’ve seen in other areas. The thing is, you’ll have thousands of really crap games that look like photos all over the place. We’ve engineered our way out of creativity. It actually makes me a bit sad tbh. Let’s see how it goes…

I did read this hastily prepared article that comically looks like it’s written by AI yes “That’s not a filter. That’s a..” is GPT 101 Language structure. Regardless, it’s using the games data to do the ai interpretation, it’s still producing the results that differ enough from the art that it feels…off. We’ll see I guess.

If you play path tracing games maxed out on PC you would understand this The assets aren’t being manipulated by generative ai like character models for example it’s lighting in the game that’s being manipulated. Lighting makes a big difference

Game developers like Capcom are going to be very unhappy. This isn’t a lighting engine you’re literally changing artistic intent with AI slop… that’s just not going to go down well

@SwitchUpG That’s because it is. It’s insane how they are all ok with this. Lighting is one thing but an entire model being Redone by AI is terrible.

I made a good point badly as has been pointed out. I’m not pooping on the two lesser writers but there’s this narrative pushed by ZA/UM that they made Disco Elysium and every time I don’t see credit to the lead writers etc it irks me

“Correct a fool and he will hate you for it, correct a wise man and he will love you for it!” You are right fair play haha it just smacks of “only writers” to me rather than the ones who did the very least of the writing perhaps 5% of the finalised script if that. It was Robert Kurvitz who was the lead writer and “final say” man. But yes, technically they wrote so they were a writer I take the L on that ❤️
