It's about maintaining the balance of power between citizens and the state. Never give up the means to defend your liberty. But, having been in Jerusalem on a day when there was a terrorist attack where open carrying civilian's neutralised the threat....something for you to consider.

TBH I feel safer in a place where guns are allowed, provided the culture is right. I've felt very safe in the US across several states and in Israel too, where they open carry.

With strict national gun laws we have had no mass shootings in 40 years and 32 killed by guns vs 46,000 in US
