@ThatNerdGurl_ Lisa Picard is Famous (2000) and To Die For (1995). I'd also recommend a short YouTube series called Sex House, made by The Onion. It's an ensemble piece, but it's pretty amusing. I second Jackie's Back and The Watermelon Woman.

@jaynbobo It's a small program with only about 35 or so students admitted per year, I think, so it would be competitive. I know the financial aid is generous for the main student body, including free tuition now for students with families making <150k a year. It's an amazing school.

@jaynbobo The Ada Comstock Program at Smith College in Massachusetts is an option for non-traditional aged women or women with families and offers financial aid for those with demonstrated need. smith.edu/academics/depa…

Hey everyone! 🚨🚨🚨 I’m back on here for a bit & heavily considering releasing coffee table books based on artwork I create for each season of “BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER”. How many of you would support a kickstarter to make this happen? Please let me know so I can gauge interest!

@carebecc Most of the characters from the 2007 movie Catacombs, notoriously starring P!nk as one of the worst sisters ever, are pretty awful and definitely deserved what they got.

I need your worst, most weaselly, most heartless HORROR MOVIE FRIENDS! Can not be the killer or mastermind of their movie- good examples are Blaire from Unfriended and Juno from The Descent.

I’ve made really good friends with a woman who works near me. We stop and chat most days, she’s popped in for coffee and vice verse, she helped fix my printer when it was broken, we’ve planned to go to a food festival next week together, and I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HER NAME IS.

@NightmareJunk Anything that involves people going into an outhouse, a septic tank, or a sewer. Sleepaway Camp 2, No Man's Land: Rise of Reeker, The Bar, kind of Fear Street 1978. The diaper scene in The Visit would count. Always grosses me out. Also some spider stuff, like in Deadly Blessing.

@HorrorQueers I totally understand not being able to think of any of Gemma Arterton's movies. She is the lead in a lesbian period drama called Summerland. I really like it. It takes place during WWII in England and mostly involves a crotchety hermit bonding with a young evacuee from London.

What are some sequels that completely undercut the romantic relationship from the first one? Like one of them died or they broke up off screen because one of the actors didn’t wanna come back? It’s one of my least favorite tropes ever but all I can think of is Ted 2 lmao

@HelloCullen She Creature (2001), might have to buy dvd on eBay, starring Carla Gugino and Rufus Sewell as a couple who abduct a mermaid with the intent of profiting off of her in a circus setting. Below (2002), WWII submarine horror movie

@DoNatoBomb While I definitely wouldn't call it a favorite, Killer Body Count on Tubi was an interesting enough watch. An incense thurible is used as a weapon and that was enough to entertain me.

Alright, horror lovers — what's your favorite under-the-radar horror flick of 2024 so far? I'm working on wrapping up my mid-year roundup. I've seen 50+ new horror releases this year, everything "major," but I have the weekend to cram a few more watches for consideration.

@MichaelVarrati Our copy of The Goonies was copied off the TV and was missing the prison break in the beginning (unbeknownst to me). It started with everyone watching the car chase. It wasn't until many years later that I saw it from the beginning and I was so thrown off by the "extra" scene.

I feel like everyone who grew up in the VHS era had that one movie that they first saw on a tape that was so battered and worn that it became part of the charm. Then years later, when you saw a crisp version, you couldn't help but be uncertain of this familiar stranger.

@HorrorQueers @zgpodcasts Another mermaid film I really enjoy is She Creature, starring Carla Gugino. I believe it is a tv movie that can only really be watched on dvd nowadays, but it's worth checking out. It is also kind of sapphic.

@HorrorQueers @zgpodcasts I love these kinds of coming of age films in horror. This, Raw, When Animals Dream, Thelma, and Stoker all have similar vibes to me. Maybe My Animal and Blood Moon as well.

@JorCru @ScreenDrafts Also, I would recommend looking into Summerland (2020), starring Gemma Arterton, for anyone who hasn't seen it. I don't know how well known it is because it's newer, but I think it's a sweet movie. Tipping the Velvet and Fingersmith are also classics to me.
