One of the most cruel details of the Prairieland defendants’ pretrial detention… Pittman wouldn’t allow Mari to attend her father’s funeral. Not even through Zoom. There is no excuse for this.
Of course, we know cruelty is the point. Never forgive or forget this.

Mari’s father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer soon after Mari’s arrest. He passed away in January. He and Mari were never able to see each other again, and the jail wouldn’t even let Mari zoom into his funeral.

two days ago, 75-100 people converged on a proposed ICE facility in salt lake city. some people in the crowd busted 20 windows of the facility. KUTV, local news outlet, published this blurred photo of graffiti which clearly says "kill all nazis." why did they censor this?

when i saw sy hersh (who broke the abu ghraib story) speak last year, he was very bleak about this. he said that if the abu ghraib whistleblower had come to him in recent years, he would not expect the story to make a difference today the way it did in 2004.
